The 2022 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XXII Commonwealth Games and commonly known as Birmingham 2022, was an international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth of Nations that took place in Birmingham, England between 28 July and 8 August 2022.
In early 2022, the East Haddon / Ravensthorpe family all agreed to go into the ballot for the athletics and try and get seats for the event. Whilst the East Haddon family managed to successfully get tickets, the Ravensthorpe Cooper's missed out.
Due to some elaborate passport issues, the East Haddon Tree House family (that's John & Debs' house name BTW) needed a change of holiday plans that collided with their games ticket dates.
Always the gracious family, the Ravensthorpe Coopers stepped up and took the tickets. Barbara, Simon, Alina, Hugo and Halle all squeezed into one car and headed up to the park & ride at Fort Dunlop.
An incredible experience made better by friendly police, medical and games organisers who all seemed to be having a blast whilst working their shifts.
